On July 19, San Francisco City Impact held its annual Impact Day event and BAMM was able to participate in this special day by providing a free medical clinic in their medical and dental spaces.
We had a wonderful team of over 20 people who gave of themselves, their talents and time, to help care for any and all who desired to be seen. Our hope was for our time with patients to be covered in a spirit of welcome and Christ’s love.
We had team members greet the patients, welcome them, ask about the medical concerns they had and offer point of care testing – vision screening, blood sugar screening, blood pressure monitoring and prayer as they waited to see providers.
At the providers station, we were able to greet the patients by name, have time to talk, answer questions and address the medical concerns to the best of our ability. We were able to offer medical information, support, wash feet, care for wounds and hopefully encourage each patient that they are special and unique persons in the eyes of God, and that they matter. Each patient was prayed for if they wished as we finished our time together.
It was a meaningful time as a team to serve together, care for the TL community, encourage City Impact staff and hopefully become a little bit more like Jesus in how he loved and healed. We are looking forward to more times serving together!
